We always pass by so many restaurants when we’re just walking around our neighborhood so this week for date night, Dave and I decided to walk down 2nd Ave and just find a place to eat along the way. The second we passed BurgerFi, which just opened on 2nd Ave between 83rd and 84th, we knew we had our winner. As you know, we love burgers, so we were very excited to see that a new place had opened right by us.
You walk into BurgerFi and it’s a huge open restaurant with TVs all over the walls and then a counter to order at towards the back. There’s a huge menu hanging above the counter and as soon as we looked through it, we knew this place was going to be good. We decided on the B.A.D (breakfast all day) burger, which is a natural Angus burger with American cheese and hickory bacon drizzled with maple syrup, fried egg, hash browns, grilled diced onions, and ketchup. A very healthy choice. For our second burger, we got the brisket burger, which is a double natural 28 day dry aged ground brisket, Swiss cheese, blue cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles and BurgerFi sauce. On the side we got Cry & Fries (french fries and onion rings) with salt and vinegar and parmesan cheese & herb toppings. Yum!
We picked up our ketchup, mustard, napkins, and silverware found a table with a good view of the TV. As soon as we got settled in, our buzzer started going off letting us know that our food was ready. We split the burgers up and dug in. I started with an onion ring. They were huge and delicious. Then I went in for the fries which were equally as delicious, especially with the flavored toppings.
And then the burgers. They both were very juicy, flavorful, and great combinations (and huge, of course), but the BAD burger was by far the winner in my book. I mean come on, how could it not be??? A burger, maple syrup, fried egg and hash browns all in one? Yeah.
And then, to top it off, we read a message on the table saying that if we posted a picture of our meal on Instagram and tagged #BurgerFi, we’d get a free custard (yep, they have custard too!). Ok, well there’s no way we could pass that up! We got a free chocolate and vanilla custard with Reeses Pieces for the walk home, and that was the perfect ending to our great meal at BurgerFi. Welcome to the neighborhood, guys!
