I love to eat! Always have and probably always will. It’s kind of a passion of mine. Thankfully my metabolism has been great to me throughout the years.
Now, because eating out is just so much fun, it’s only natural that I’m constantly trying new places and venturing out of my comfort zone.
In 2012 I moved to Los Angeles looking to start fresh and I figured since LA is such a melting pot, the food would probably be insane. God, I’m super happy that my assumption was on point. The food is incredible! One of the most memorable places that I’ve been though, has to be UMAMI BURGER.
I didn’t know what to expect when I first walked into the super small burger joint, but the atmosphere was pretty cool and the food smelled great. As soon as I started reading the menu, I knew I was in for a crazy experience. After careful deliberation, I finally decided to go with the Manly Burger. A beef burger patty with beer-cheddar cheese, smoked-salt onion strings, bacon lardons, umami ketchup, mustard spread.
I’m not sure what the hell they put in the Umami ketchup (maybe some type of crack), but it is incredible. The burger was cooked to perfection and the toasted bun was delicious. Honestly one of the best burgers I’ve had so far. I also ordered the thin fries which weren’t bad if you dipped them into the Jalapeño Ranch or Diablo Sauce.
Now, because Umami Burgers are considered gourmet, be prepared to shove out an easy $11 per burger (no sides included), but the food is worth the price and is one of my favorite spots to visit.
